Cheviot Hills - Northumbrian Uplands, 16 May 2020
Come and join us for a full day in the spectacular Harthope valley. We hope to see Ravens and Buzzard in the skies above us whilst the woodlands should have Redstarts, Tree Pipit, Spotted Flycatcher and Lesser Redpoll. We will listen out for the increasingly elusive Cuckoo and Green Woodpecker, and we will be checking the river and streams for Dipper, Common Sandpiper and Grey Wagtail. We will climb a little into upland territory to see Ring Ouzel at one of the best locations in North East England for this rare and beautiful bird, as well as Whinchat, Red Grouse, Peregrine Falcon and an outside chance of Merlin.
Last years trip saw us seeing 45 species in total, with many of these being upland specialities.
