Birds of Holy Island

image of bird

Any time in spring, autumn and winter is good for seeing birds on this beautiful island. On a typical day tour we should see large numbers of waders and duck, the only flock of Pale-bellied Brent Geese on the British mainland and either one of the UK's fastest hunters - the Merlin and the Peregrine Falcon. Migratory birds from the European continent are liable to arrive whenever the winds turn easterly, and such visitors include the occasional rare gem like the Pallas's Warbler.
